Food trap

Quick Tip: Do you have areas in your mouth where food traps between the teeth? Take a piece of floss and tie a knot in the floss. Once you position the floss between the teeth, gently pull the knot through the area and it will pull out any food trapped in the area. It’s very important to clean out these areas as soon as possible to the prevent a cavity or gum problems. Have your dentist evaluate why food is catching in between the particular teeth. It could be a loose filling, the tooth may have shifted or you may have a cavity.

Most people are not happy with their smile because of the color of the teeth. The proportionate length and width of teeth, however, are just as important. If you have white teeth but do not have proper symmetry of length and width matched to your face, that may be the limiting factor on how satisfied you are with your smile. Worn down teeth with tetracycline stains

Tetracyline is an antibiotic that was widely prescribed for pregnant women and children from the 1950’s through the late 1970’s. One of the possible side effects was permanent staining of teeth. In this case, presence of tetracycline staining and severe wear from teeth grinding led this patient to take action.

First, Teeth whitening was performed for a few weeks. Then, six upper front teeth were prepared for porcelain veneers and temporaries were placed. At Fort Dental, Patient care and comfort always comes first. We provide TV’s in every room so that you can watch your favorite programming while in our dental chair. Our options used to be limited with a basic channel line up but we now provide Direct TV so you can enjoy your favorite channel while we care for your mouth.

In addition to the gentle care we provide, many of our patients find that watching a television program during treatment is a nice distraction from any anxiety they may have. If you do not enjoy watching television, we have a wide variety of magazines for your enjoyment.
