As a child, he spent a lot of time visiting the dentist. Discovering the artistic side of the field, as well as how much interaction there is between the dentist and patients, he decided dentistry would be an ideal career option.

Since earning his dental degree at Baylor College of Dentistry, he has completed 500+ hours of postgraduate training focusing primarily on cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Cheng’s commitment to continuing education led him to complete the continuum of courses at the Arrowhead Institute. He’s also a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

When he’s not busy in the office, you’ll find him with his wife and their two young children. He enjoys playing golf and violin, and being an active member of his church.

Dr.Thorburn

Dr. Thorburn is an experienced dentist near Crowley who has more than 400 hours of continuing education credits focusing on dental implants, Invisalign, IV sedation, and cosmetic dental procedures. He has spent countless hours completing continuums for the Misch Implant Institute and Arrowhead Cosmetics.

But before he began focusing his attention on various dental specialties, he attended the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston. During his time in dental school, he helped create events for pre-dental students, including the University of Texas School of Dentistry Pre-Dental Leadership Award.

Since graduating, he has continued his efforts to remain as involved as possible in various professional organizations, some of which include the Greater Fort Worth Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Outside the office, he enjoys volunteering with Texas Mission of Mercy clinics, as well as spending time with his wife, Meghan, and their children. The two volunteer each month with the Fort Worth Mercy Clinic, providing free dental care, but they also enjoy traveling and being outdoors. You may even find Dr. Thorburn barbecuing, baking, playing video games, and car racing.

Dr. Luk

Before entering the field of dentistry, Dr. Luk served in the military as a special forces medic, also referred to as a Green Beret. While in the service, he worked in a makeshift clinic in the Philippines and fell in love with dentistry, which led to his decision to pursue a career as a dentist near Crowley when he returned to the U.S.

Earning his DDS degree at the University of Texas Health School of Dentistry in Houston, he went on to complete more than 600 hours of continuing education, including 300 hours in dental implants. In addition, Dr. Luk is certified in sedation dentistry, is a Premier Provider of KoR Whitening, and is an Invisalign Gold Plus Provider.

Dr. Cox

A native of New York, Dr. Cox grew up in Houston, TX, and attended the University of Texas at Austin. There, she was introduced to dentistry after becoming a member of the Texas Pre-Dental Society. Committed to learning as much as she can about various aspects of the dental field, Dr. Cox aims to stay at the forefront of all new advancements in the field.

Although she stays busy helping patients at Fort Dental, she also enjoys traveling, doing yoga, catching up with friends over a meal, and watching a good drama or documentary. As a proud aunt with three nieces, all of whom she holds dear, she spends much of her time with them and cherishes her adorable pet, Ginger.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get emergency dental care?

You will first need to call the dentist’s office to inquire about emergency dental care. This will make it possible for a staff member to provide timely help. If it is a life-threatening emergency, call 911 immediately. You should know that most ERs and quick care clinics are unable to handle most dental emergencies, so you may not receive the kind of care you need.

Most dental offices provide same-day treatment. At Fort Dental, we offer this level of care so that our patients can be free of pain and enjoy a fully restored smile much quicker.

You are encouraged to call our office the moment a dental injury occurs. A member of our team can evaluate the severity of your problem over the phone and determine how quickly you need to come in. It’s important to remember that most dental emergencies indicate a more serious issue. By visiting the dentist regularly, you can avoid future injuries, as well as save time, money, and your natural teeth.

How do I find the best place to get dental work done?

You’ll first need to identify the most important criteria. Determine what is most important to you by asking yourself:

  • Is it necessary to find a practice that has flexible operating hours?
  • Is it necessary for the dental practice to be near my home or place of work?
  • Do I want a dental practice that treats both adults and children?
  • Do I want a dentist near Crowley who is in-network with my dental insurance?
  • Do I need a dentist who offers a wide range of comprehensive services?

These are the kinds of questions that will help you narrow down your choices. Using your answers, you can then begin to research various offices and begin reading patient reviews.

At Fort Dental, there are countless reasons why patients continue to choose us for superior oral care. Not only is our team caring and compassionate, but we also:

  • Have convenient appointment times
  • A multitude of services provided in one convenient location
  • Several payment options to help lower out-of-pocket costs
  • Same-day emergency appointments

How much does a dental checkup & cleaning cost in Crowley?

The cost of a dental checkup and cleaning in Crowley can depend on a few factors, such as your location and your overall dental health. This type of visit is quite comprehensive, in that it includes a discussion about your health history and any concerns you might have about your smile. It also incorporates a thorough examination completed by one of our dentists, a professional cleaning, X-rays, and an oral cancer screening.

With all this included as part of the dental checkup and cleaning visit, the average price of this appointment in the United States runs between $200 and $350. This is why you should use your dental insurance if you have it. Most companies will pay 80-100% of the total cost of these preventive visits, so they cost you little or nothing out of pocket.
