Why Laser?

The Solea laser system is unique compared with other laser systems because it allows the dentist and team at Fort Dental to perform a wide range of soft tissue and hard tissue preparation, removal, and reshaping treatments without the use of needles, drills, scalpels, or sutures.

The innovative digital technology allows us to perform a wide range of treatments with greater precision, comfort, and speed. As one of only a few DFW Metroplex dental offices that uses the Solea laser system, we are one of the only dental offices that offers injection-free filling treatments.

Laser Therapy for Collagen Tightening

During treatment, laser energy targets the soft palate, gently heating the tissue to disrupt and contract collagen fibers. This tightening effect increases tissue firmness, helping to reduce the vibrations that cause snoring. Over time, the body may also produce new collagen, which can further enhance the stability and tone of the tissue for longer-lasting results.

frequently asked questions

What is Solea Sleep?

Solea Sleep is a non-invasive laser treatment that gently tightens soft tissues in the back of the mouth to reduce snoring and improve airway function. It’s ideal for patients with snoring issues or mild sleep-disordered breathing—not a replacement for CPAP or other treatments for diagnosed sleep apnea.

How does the treatment work?

The Solea Laser uses light energy to stimulate collagen production and tighten the soft palate tissue that causes airway vibrations (snoring). The procedure is quick, requires no cutting or stitches, and is done using an aerosolized topical numbing agent—no needles or sedation needed.

What does the treatment process look like?

  • Initial exam: $89 – Includes a CBCT scan (a $250 value) to evaluate your airway in 3D.
  • Snore tracking required: Patients must use the free SnoreLab app for 3 nights before the exam and after each treatment to measure improvement.
  • Treatment plan: $1200 for two laser sessions spaced 28 days apart.

Is Solea Sleep painful?

Not at all. Most patients report minimal to no discomfort during or after the treatment. The aerosolized anesthetic makes the procedure smooth, and there’s no downtime—you can resume normal activities right away.

How do I know if I’m a good candidate?

If you experience snoring or suspect mild sleep apnea, you can start by completing our online sleep screening tools:

  • Snoring Concerns? Try our STOP-BANG questionnaire
  • Excessive daytime fatigue? Use our Epworth Sleepiness ScaleThese help us determine whether Solea Sleep or an airway appliance like Optisleep is more appropriate. (For moderate to severe sleep apnea, a proper diagnosis and custom appliance may be recommended.)

Is Solea Sleep covered by insurance?

No. Solea Sleep is considered an elective wellness procedure and is not covered by dental or medical insurance. Fort Dental is out of network, but we provide full cost transparency upfront so there are no surprises.
